Dr. Stanimir Marius

I started my medical studies at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy of Craiova in 2004. Subsequently I followed the training in Urology at the Departmental Emergency University Hospital of Craiova from 2010. Afterwards I decided to continue my urology studies in Belgium until the end of my residency.

After my training in general urology in Hospitals approved by the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL), I obtained the degree of Medical Specialist in Urology in October 2016.

Scientific work is part of my skills, resulting in the completion of a doctoral thesis (PhD) that I defended in 2017.

Subsequently, I did a fellowship in robotic surgery at the Cliniques de l’Europe on the Saint-Elisabeth site in Brussels. Since January 2018, I have had the opportunity to work at the CHU-UCL Namur Site Mont-Godinne where I have acquired extensive clinical and operative experience in the field of general urology and more particularly in oncological urology.

From October 2018 to June 2019, I followed genitourinary cancerology courses at the Paris Sud Faculty of Medicine in collaboration with the Gustave Roussy Oncological Institute (Paris).

Since January 2018, in addition to the surgical management of general urological pathologies, I have performed several types of robot-assisted surgical procedures (radical prostatectomy, cystectomy with Bricker urinary diversion, nephro-ureterectomy, radical and partial nephrectomy, pyeloplasty, promontofixation, etc.) which have been highly appreciated by the medical community and by patients. In addition, some of these robot-assisted surgeries were loco regional premiers.
Being of Romanian origin, I am fluent in Romanian, as well as French, English and Serbian. I have also learned Dutch in depth, which allows me to provide medical care for patients in their native language.

The rigor and the methodical spirit acquired in the field, the good capacity for team coordination, the individual and personalized approach of the patient, the ambition and the motivation in order to achieve the objectives set are, in my opinion, my main qualities.
